sew-on back (no glue on the back, makes it thinner and easier to sew to things
4 inches wide – NOT small
12 patches to the pack – great for sharing
Where to put a patch?
Traditionally, they go on happi coats, but they can be added to so much more. Glue it to a mug? Sew it to bowling shirt? Put it on a hat? – although, I do have a mesh hat available that already has a hash foot, just smaller.
Personally, I like to keep a hash foot patch on my backpack. When I travel it can lead to meeting a random hasher. This helps for any hasher not on the H3 Airport meetup group on Facebook. Additionally, I put a couple patches on my everyday backpack. Yes, to meet random hashers, but also to differentiate my bag from other people’s bags.
A happy customer left a very nice review on my Etsy page and I want to share it. The reviewer received some of my socks as a gift, and came back to buy some of my Welsh socks. However, if you are not that interested in reading the whole review, it basically says:
Honestly, it does not get old to get reviews like this. I am very happy that I remain a 5-star seller on Etsy.
Review in full:
In addition to 1) these Welsh flag socks, I also received: 2) the Scot socks and 3) the blue thistle socks previously as a gift; so I am reviewing all 3 items here.
It’s simple: they are all great, high quality products, and very comfortable to wear. This is more than I expected (I thought they would be like socks from that bubble place, which are thin and start to fade after a few washes). The instructions say to hand wash them, but I’ve washed them several times already in the machine on a HAND-WASH cycle. They are not fading, disintegrating, or anything. I’ll definitely be purchasing more from this seller!! The socks matched the pictures and descriptions, and I got them when I expected. If Etsy will let me, I’ll upload a few pixs.

Another happy customer
And while I am here, I might as well add another customer’s review. It also refers to my Welsh socks:
5 out of 5 stars
Excellent socks and even better customer service. They were shipped in error to a wrong address. Buyer made it right immediately and even sent an extra pair for free. My husband loves these socks and we’ll definitely shop this site again.
Foot crew socks are mostly cotton, so will remain soft through their lifetime.
There is elastic around the ankle and around the arch of the foot. Makes for a better fit.
They are sold in matching pairs. I was told that NOT everyone wants to be living life out loud like I do….
Toe and heels are different colors. This is not seen when shoes are worn. Walking around without shoes gives a little extra color.
Also, the foot design is knit into the socks, so will not fade, or peel off.
And lastly, the foot is placed on the socks in such a way that they face forward. The toes of the sock match the direction of the wearer’s toes. Unless you did something weird when you put them on…. And then I would like to see a picture.
I am not a small man, so I need socks for adults. I have been wearing a couple pairs of mine for a few months now. Yes, pretty much always mis-matched. As such, usually I put the black socks on my left foot. I usually do the same for my beer/hops socks (pic to the right). – Beer socks were made to have a hop cone at the ankle. I think it came out very nice. Additionally, I am a big fan of the black and yellow combo.
The Iron Front antifascist caps have been selling great. They are also known as the three arrows hat – an old anti-fascist symbol created in Germany in the 1930’s. They are good baseball hats, so I am sure a good part of the reason is the quality. As some people see fascism continue to rise in the world, maybe more hats are sold as a reaction against that. I would like to believe that it is because more people become happy to display anti-fascism.
More antifascist colors to come:
Red and white have done well, and it is time to look at ordering more. As it is already September, it will be necessary to make sure that stocks are ready for the holiday season – unfortunately, I do not mean the Oktoberfest season. On top of making sure I have plenty of stock to sell through the turnover of the year, I am also looking at bringing in a couple of additional colors. I have been selling red embroidered and white embroidered caps. I am looking to add the color grey and green.
Check out the reviews –
5 star reviews from Etsy:
This hat rocks. Well made, well stitched, and showed up fast.
Great quality, speedy delivery! I LOVE this hat, thank you so much!!
I did sell them to a number of friends, but its pretty much all online now.
Personally, I am a big fan of the cap. With the new colors coming in, it will probably be necessary to make a new video for Etsy. Videos are supposed to help show the fit of the hat. It also helps highlight the mesh backing. The mesh part helps keeps the head cooler on warm days. Also, the black bill is easier on the eyes. A darker brim doesn’t reflect as much light into the eyes.
I received such a nice review for my socks, I thought it would be a good idea to share it for others to see, including a few pictures.
“My daughter got me your Scot Socks w/lion rampant for fathers day, and the order came with the Scot Thistle socks for free. What an awesome surprise–hope that wasn’t an accident. Both of these were excellent quality by the way–much better than RedBubble socks for instance. So I decided to buy more stuff in appreciation: the Cymru Socks just now to start with. I plan to buy more stuff from you, finances allowing. Very cool. Thank you very much.” From a happy customer.
It is always nice to receive emails and messages like this. My gold and red Rampant Lion Socks were once the top selling Scottish socks on Amazon. The Thistle socks are some of my favorite to wear every day. I really like how the blue and grey colors go together.
For more information: The Rampant Lion Scot Socks – Etsy link here – are based off the Rampant Lion Scottish flag: red rampant lion on a gold background. It was traditionally considered the flag of Scotland’s royalty, but it is also extremely common to see fly along with the saltire, the blue and white Scottish flag.
The Thistle Socks – Etsy link here – are more closely related to the other flag of Scotland: the saltire. The flag is a white St. Andrew’s cross on a blue field. Instead, there is a thistle, a national symbol of Scotland. – story goes that an early morning raid by foreigners was ruined when the barefoot barbarians stepped on some local thistles and called out in pain, and thus giving up their element of surprise.
If their is interest in either style of Scottish socks, they are are listed on my current available catalog, which is here.
It doesn’t feel close to Halloween. The weather is not cool yet, and it’s barely September. However, I’ve seen some small preparations for Halloween that have been started:
a customer bought some Halloween SKULL socks from me online, and
I refreshed the listing and added a few cool photos to my account for the spooky skull socks, found on Etsy here.
Thus, if there is anyone else that might be interested in prepping for the upcoming Halloween 2022 season, be it for fun runs, or just for a little more covering of the legs when the cooler weather does roll in, may I present my Halloween socks.
The Halloween skull socks are tall knee length runner’s socks, or some might say “shiggy socks,” and have broad orange and black stripes. There is a white skull on the sides of the calves. The skull is knit, so will not fade or break apart.
For anyone that is less on Etsy, but is much more active in the Hash House Harriers community, the socks are on the Online Hab Bazaar as well.
The Halloween socks are made just like my other customized logo socks, in that they are: – machine washable meaning they are built to last – soft and comfortable so you can wear them all day – stretchy to fit the majority of most adults – can be pulled higher up the leg for a little more protection/warmth.
I also refreshed the listing for the matching pair of socks, my GHOST socks on Etsy. The skull socks have been more popular, but I think they go great as a mis-matched pair.
Orange and black striped socks with a white ghost knit into the sides, at mid-calf level. Like the pair of socks above, these long socks can go to the knee and can be used to protect your legs at the gym or as shiggy socks, or running socks.
A previous customer got in touch as there was a big event coming up for her kennel (running club) and she needed some good socks as part of a gift bag for all those that joined. – I was unable to fly down, unfortunately….
As she had seen pictures of my Ukrainian socks that I made (and then donate the proceeds to charity) – she thought it was a perfect match of: 1. getting great quality socks 2. sending a bit of money over to help those in an active war zone.
The blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag really come together, and create a great contrast. Heel and toe are blue to match the top of the sock. Ukrainian shield at the most obvious point of the sock. – added message to Putin, easily covered when wearing shoes.
“YES they were delivered and allllll good – excellent quality so as Grand Mistress I kept a pair for myself 😜 Thank you so much for the extra goodies as well…I’m thinking them all being red wasn’t an accident and will go well at our RDR auction! I meant to email you and thank you but had to fly out of town for work and life got sideways so thank you very much for checking in! The kennel couldn’t be happier, especially with the speed of shipping so please know if it wasn’t a hassle on your end, we plan to be ordering from you again! “

Happy to get such a nice review, and happy to make my donation to Doctors without Borders. I combined the sales of the socks to Australia along with some sales on my Ukraine crew socks on Etsy sales and was able to donate $1,020.
I can not say I have any direct connections with Ukraine, but I feel strongly about supporting the country against Putin’s aggression. I hope the situation can end soon and that Ukraine comes out stronger.
First big round of Ukraine socks is mostly finished. The long (shiggy) socks are all spoken for, but I am still selling through the short crew socks (hit me up if you want to get some). My friend, Adele, even put out a Tik-tok video about the socks!
As a result, I am looking at making another round to be made and sold. If you are very keen, feel free to send me an email to get on the list, and let me know if you are wanting long or shorts socks. – email@example.com
47 pairs sold, means I sent $690 to Doctors without Borders.
1 kind still available: crew socks as shown. The long knee-length/shiggy socks are mostly sold out. Message me for a bulk order. Socks are soft, durable, and machine washable.
Currently I am selling socks directly through PayPal, but on Etsy as well. If anyone is interested in ordering a bulk number to sell on for further fundraising, please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org .
UPDATE: the socks have been very popular, and have sent them to places around the world, including Australia.
Socks in use
Personally, I have been wearing my Ukraine socks all the time. The socks are soft and comfortable, and so I like to spend time at the gym and on the treadmill. Even as I update this post, I am wearing a pair of the socks right now. super comfy, why take them off?
I love that I have pics from the socks being used in a run (as can be seen in the picture). Additionally, it has been great that one of my customers has been a repeat customer (a hasher), buying multiple sets of socks several times. So glad to hear that she has enough people that like the socks and others want to get some and use them for some shiggy trails.
Multiple donations have been made to Doctors without Borders to be used in Ukraine. I sincerely hope it has been able to help, even if it is a small bit of help. Getting close to $2,000:
April 26 – $100
April 29 – $690
Aug 25 – $1,020
I am still taking orders, so hopefully will be able to pass the $2,000 mark in the next few weeks.
